We've seen the Saddle-billed Stork a couple times in Kenya, but this beautiful and elegant bird proved elusive and a bit skittish. When we encountered this male stork on the Khwai River in Botswana, he seemed pretty relaxed. Got some nice static shots, and then he took off to join his mate. This huge bird (males run 59 inches (150 cm) tall, 56 inches (142 cm) long and wingspan of 8-9 feet (2.4–2.7 m) was a pleasant surprise.
