Graceful Guanaco
A South American camelid species closely related to the Llama, the Guanaco (Lama guanicoe) (from Quechua word “Huanaco” - Wanaku" in Spanish) is a common sight in Patagonia. Tall and heavy (up to 200 pounds), they are graceful and can run fast (up to 40 mph). We spotted this one descending a hill after spotting a Puma with 2 small cubs near the peak.
