This wild Mustang (Equus ferus caballus) herd had been hanging out on the other side of the trees, quite a distance away. When these two mares decided they wanted to move, and to check us and our vehicle out, it all happened very quickly. Mustangs are very curious, bordering on nosey. When they all ran towards us, the sound of their thundering hooves went right through us. Quite an experience. Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, Hot Springs, South Dakota.
