Long-tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata) in a rare moment of stillness. These frenetic little predators are lightning quick and voracious. Here the weasel takes a moment to identify or track its next victim. The weasel has average eyesight, but acute hearing and sense of smell. They will dive into the underground burrow of a sleeping rodent, dispatch the inhabitant, and take a brief nap after feeding. Quite a house guest!
