Long Tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata) in a frenetic search for prey. Also know as the Bridled Weasel and the Big Stoat, their fur turns white in the winter. This makes them almost impossible to spot in snow. We were driving past a couple Moose bedded down far from the road and obscured by willow. Our disappointment soon turned to elation when we saw the tip of the weasel’s tail blow right past us. A lucky spot turned into about 30 minutes frantically searching for the weasel as it darted, dove and sprinted all around us. Weasel photography is exhausting but a unique experience.
