Lake Clark National Park, on the shore of the Cook Inlet on the Alaska Peninsula, offers some of the best Brown Bear viewing in the world. We visited in mid-June, when the bears have emerged from hibernation and are feeding on a variety of foods, including clams and grass. We spotted several cubs - no spring cubs, but the two light-colored youngsters were the spring cubs we photographed in 2010.
