Lone Sandhill Crane (somewhat remarkable in Bosque - usually they are in some large group) testing the waters in the far reaches of a pond, just before dawn. The cranes are very large (almost 5 feet tall and 6-7 foot wingspan) but very graceful and elegant. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico.
